Before you can be onboarded onto FDMS, ZIMRA needs your registration details in order. Getting these documents together first is the single biggest thing you can do to avoid delays. Here’s the checklist.
Your ZIMRA Registration Basics
Two numbers anchor everything: your TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) and your BP number (Business Partner number). Confirm both are correct and active on ZIMRA’s system before you start — mismatches here are one of the most common causes of onboarding delays.
Company Documents (CR14)
You’ll need your company registration documents, including the CR14 (the Registrar of Companies return listing your directors). Make sure it reflects your current directors — an outdated CR14 with directors who have since left the business is a common snag.
Bank Confirmation Letter
A bank confirmation letter verifies your business banking details. It needs to be current and should match the business name and details on your ZIMRA registration exactly — small discrepancies (a trading name vs. a registered name, for example) can hold up the process.
Proof of Address
Proof of your business address is required and should match what’s on file with ZIMRA. If you’ve moved premises since registering and haven’t updated your address with ZIMRA, sort that out first — it’s faster to fix before onboarding than during it.

- ✅ BP number confirmed and active
- ✅ Company registration documents, including a current CR14
- ✅ Bank confirmation letter matching your registered business details
- ✅ Proof of address matching your ZIMRA registration
- ✅ Decision made: hardware fiscal device or virtual fiscalisation
